It
is no secret that I am a huge fan of 80’s rock bands! So, there is no surprise that last night’s concert,
featuring 80’s superstars Bret Michaels (former lead singer in the glam-metal
band Poison), Stryper & Tesla at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum, has left me
with a mild sense of melancholia over the 80’s rock era and glam fashion.
Glam
style of the 80’s was bodacious. As an
era marked by excess, it is well remembered by its striking colors and prints,
big accessories, eccentric hairstyles, bold make up, bleached jeans, leggings,
leather and dyes. As many of the icons
that survived this period, 80’s fashion has reinvented into a more
sophisticated, refined trend that incorporates the boldness of the 80’s with
contemporary fashion. Here are a few of
